Hey! I have something in common with My Monty. My fur mats! He knows what it is like to have mom cuts his matted furs with the scissors! He gets a furcut about every 3 months or so.
Now! You just take a look into my orange lasers mom! Don't look at that mat on my back!!PS: I think Monty's laser eyes are imitation.
PS / PS: in the near future you will most likely see more pictures of my mat! I won't lets my mom cut it all off! So I still haves somes! I fight her tooth and nail!

Our humans got this special razor thingie for mats... we still don't like it, but is better than scissors. We think you look very lovely with the mat and she should leave you alone!

Long fur is luxurious, but we guess the drawback is dealing with the fur mats. Whenever our mom messes with us in any way, we act like we are being tortured. We assume you do the same, and jump away as quick as you can.
You look like maybe you're trying to grow a fin or a spike on your back! Leave that to the fishies and dinosaurs... ;)
We get mats in our tails sometimes but Mom just brushes them out - will you let her brush you instead of using the scissors?

I sometimes get a little mat in the middle of my back just above my tail. It's because I can't reach there very well. Mum zoom grooms me to keep it away.
No fun having fur mats. We just quietly comb them out of Yoko and she doesn't even know! But she's old tho.

The furminator works well with those mats......Cherokee is the only one who gets mats and it helps him. You have pretty furs Millie and a really cute kissy face (=^Y^=)

Ohhhh...that is the one plus with 4 shorthair kitties.....no mats. But we don't get the nice floofy tails either :(.
Oh my goodness mats are no fun! Mom used to have to deal with them with Floyd and his long fur. We hope your mom doesn't have to cut too much off - we saw the furminator suggested and we agree that it works well!

Heehee -- you've got good lasers, and it's always best to avoid the fur cutting. You show your mom who's the boss!!
