I have been upstaged! My mom has been taking a lots of pictures... but not of me! She has been taking pictures of her grandson! That hooman baby!

Often my pictures are like this! Mom finds me way in a corner hiding! I won't come out to her when she calls, unless there are no other hoomans in the room... I mean mostly the man hooman! I hides from him a lot since he has lived here! I am scared of him! In mom's bedroom I likes to lay out on her bed! But my mom shuts and locks the door when she goes to work. Sometimes I get to go into her bedroom before she goes... but if she goes before I get around to it ... then I am out of luck!!

We thought we would show you some kitties that lived here before. Above is the very young human sister Sarah, with Dandelion and Tiger. Tiger doesn't look real happy! He was jealous of any kitty being near Sarah. He doted on the human Sarah!!
There he is with Sandusky and Dandelion in the middle. Dandelion was much beloved. She followed my mom constantly... more so than I do. Mom still feels bad about having to put her to sleep 4 years ago. She lived to be nearly 18... not quite.
Can you see them boths??? Smokey and Buttercup on top of the upright piano! This picture was taken in 1971! These are kitties that lived in the family when mom was a teenager!

Mom could not resist this!! She found this invitation to a Cyber Masquerade Ball on Geogypsy's Blog! Cool! She is sure this is her once in a life time chance to go to a ball! We here at our house told her she needed a chaperone! You know Mom! After the ball we want you home in one piece!!

She says when she gets off work, runs to the grocery store, comes home and cleans the cat boxes, washes dishes, does laundry, plus even some cooking, she runs out of energy!! Ok mom! I will forgives you for the furs and stuffs on the floor! Just so long as no one says it is mine exclusively!

Update on the baby.

He came home Sunday afternoon. Mom (the new grandma) thinks he is adorable. Grandma, (Great grandma) thinks the same! Today at the doctors he weighed only 5 pounds 7 ounces. He is still very tiny! He will be officially 2 weeks old tomorrow morning!

We hopes that our friends have not forgotten us! We want to thank all for their prayers and purrs. We have had a lot going on here this last week. The human sister had her baby on Wednesday morning. The doctor recommended a C-Section. This caught everybody by surprise. Mom has been spending time visiting both her daugther and the newborn boy at the hospital. They named him John. Mom thinks he is cute! He is in the Infant Intensive Care Unit right now. But he seems to be doing really well.

Mom has her own secret name for him. Jazzie will be most interested in seeing this new born since she is a most curious cat!

In the meantime... I am always watching my backside! Literally! That dog Reye chases me! And I usually run! Mom says I shouldn't! Then Jazzie Jessie loves to torment me when I am anywhere near my mom! She doesn't want me near mom!

Even Monty gets nipped by THE REYE!!

Here Reye looks bigger than she really is! I thinks Monty doesn't know what to think! We will be around to visit as we are able.

Remembering Summer 2009

Now that summer 2011 is technically over we take a moment to reflect on a different summer. These are photos are all from summer 2009... before the human sister got married then later lost her unborn baby. It has been a hard couple of years. There has been lots of tears shed.

Mom says I am her comfort....

Laying on the back of the chair I can watch to my right or to my left... And of course, either way I can watch what my mom is doing. This is the field where Monty sometimes gets to walk! It reminds mom of The Lord of The Rings.... hmmm! Go figure.

Mom is off in the bushes for some reason and then decided this was an interesting view! I hear it is important to shake off the dust on these walks!

A family portrait.... WHAT!!! Where are the rest of us mom? My human sister, Monty, and my Mom! Mom thinks Monty handsome! Ha! Mom is the one with the frizzy, frazzeled hair! My mom is goofy!

Sandusky is the oldest of us all. Last Spring he turned 16. He does have some health issues and has to take medicines. He is not easy to give meds to!!! He has learned the sound of the med bottles and will run the other direction when the time comes!!!

We take a break to look at mom's sunflower which she grew from seed! Mom dotes over her sunflowers.

I trust him to not jumps at me or try to wrassle me! Though, occassionally he does get in a mood and will chase me! When mom gets out the nip he is always the first one there!!

But I haves to clean my tail while I do so!
Here is a still from Marnie! This girl is a bit KOO KOO! I thinks my mom wants to looks like this! She thinks this lady is the epitome of grace and style.... old Hollywood... real class! Marnie is played by Tippi Hendren (real life mommie to actress Melaine Griffith). She is also the same actress who played the female lead in Hitchcock's, The Birds.
Sean Connery is the hero! For a human I thinks he is kind of dreamy!! He is one of my mom's favorite actors! This by the way is a must see Hitchcock movie... Mom is particular fond of Hitchcock movies!

Nots to forget actress Mariette Hartley is also in the movie ... I thinks she is important to my mom only cause she played Zarabeth in the original Star Trek... She is a very important lady whom Spock fell in love with! Unlike Captain Kirk, Spock did not fall in love every other episode.
Also, Meg Wyllie of Star Trek fame had a short minute in this movie! Oops! I thinks she was an alien!! Actually, so was Zarabeth! But mom couldn't pass up the summer without mentioning it again! I thinks this is gonna be a ritual for her!This is the corner, and a messy one at that!! ... like the proverbial corner of the attic so to speak.... I loves this mess! It is the best spot in the whole house! This where mom keeps the catnip and a herbal box! I don't think it has been swept here for years and years and years!

I really am just an observer!
From this vantage I can see the dust bunnies and bits of dirt and pieces of fur. You know what I thinks? I thinks that the dogs did it all. None of it is from floofy little me!

Mom and That Man From Rio!

Movies again??! OK Mom! Just so long as you know whose blog this is!!! I will lets you do this! The following is one of your favorites... I thinks it falls somewhere in your top 20.
What is it that you likes about this movie so much mom?? Hmmmm!! Jean Paul Belmondo the star of That Man From Rio????!!

This story involves a kidnapped lady, and some treasure. I must say, there are two doggys in this movie. One of the poor dogs gets dragged into the hotel by its mom. You can see that in the clip below at around 3 minutes. I thinks the mom is too interested in the silly star of this movie. But ultimately we blame the director. The second poor dog in this film... loses his human! Mom says this is the saddest part of the whole movie! But mommie feels sorry for both dogs. My Monty is good at looking sad!

Best of all, there are lots of birdy noises in this movie!! Mommy painted her own picture of the birdies!! Shush!!! I'm listening!! I loves chirping sounds!!
There are even some alligators to be seen!

Never fear!! Monty will laugh those alligators away, and will take care of us all!!

There is also lots of romping around in this movie!! If you believes that humans can romp!! These two romp lots!

About 6 years ago my mom actually spent $29.00, plus dollars to get this movie! Unheard of for her. In fact it was her first Amazon.com purchase!!

The movie also stars Françoise Dorléac. Unfortunate for the movie world, and us, this actress left us much too soon! Passing at the young age of only 25 years ... Françoise Dorléac was sister to Catherine Deneuve. Mom can't help but wonder what more wonderful movies this lady would have made had she lived! Mom is a hat person!!! She LOVES this hat!

One of mommies favorite scenes in the whole movie takes place on a beach in Rio De Janeiro! This movie is best watched in the original French with English subtitles. That way you get the original. My mom of course doesn't understand a word of French... except "oui".

There is lots of dancing, some singing, a humans child or 2, or 3 or more, and lots of jungle sounds! We urge you to watch this movie ifs you can!

She who controls the Remote

What's that mom?

Mom hasn't been paying enough attention to me and my blog! She has had 3 weeks off since the end of summer school! The regular school year starts 18th of August! She has been goofing off watching her movies, and sewing, and playing with her watercolors! Then HORRORS OF HORRORS! She is actually going to leave me here! I won't be alone... but I will be without my mom for at least 5 whole nights and 5 whole days!! So, I will be sad! She is going to Las Vegas to the STAR TREK CONVENTION! Can you believe my mom is a Trekkie?! How can she?
In the meantime she has the audacity to puts 4 pictures up of Monty! And only 1 picture of me!!

PS: Mom says this is the first and, most likely, the only time she will be going to a Star Trek convention! She says she just couldn't resist. This being one of Leonard Nimoy's 2nd to last.

My mom is immersing herself in her favorite movies! This is her 3nd favorite movie, North by Northwes t, an Alfred Hitchcock film. (See Hitchcock introduce this movie!) I can't for the life of me figure out why you likes this movie so much mom! There are absolutely no cats, insects, butterflies, or birdies in this movie! Not even A DOG! ... or a horse! OH WAIT! Mom's hero in his most famous scene! Is that a birdie chasing him?
Here are two of the bad guys and the "good girl". Mom does not really identify with this "good girl" much! Hmmm! What that? is it the rousing music played throughout this movie?
Hey mom! I could play the part of the good girl!
I come complete with a smashed up box!!
Hey again!! Jazzie can outstare Martin Landau any day!
He played one of the bad guys. But we forgives him, he was stuck on the moon in Space 1999 ... a jail of sorts!

Here is Mama Boots ... a girl after my own heart ... she loved to eat! She lived with mom and the human sister Sarah, in Angwin, then a short time in Napa. She was mama to Tiger. She was a very sweet quiet kitty!
Dandelion, mom's sweet baby girl! This kitty adored my mom and followed her everywhere. Mom wishes now she had more pictures of her. She lived to be 17 years old. When mom had to have her put down she was horrified and surprised to find out she only weighed 3 and a half pounds.
And the baby Jazzie, having to have the last word as usual!

Me First:
1. I hates to be held! I will squirm and squirm till I get loose! On occasion I have attempted to scratch or bite the human who dares to pick me up and hold me.

2. I don't like wet food, or anything like, chicken or fish. I like Sandusky's special crumbles diet ... WD.
Monty next:
3. Not exactly a weird fact... Monty is blind in his left eye... having had a detached retina and two surgeries, and must have eyedrops for the rest of his life in that eye. He does see shadows in that eye. He sees a special doggy and kitty eye doctor twice a year.

4. Monty sleeps with grandma in her room. Late at night when mom sometimes finds him still in the living room she tells him... "Go to bed..." He will dutifully get up and go to grandma's room.
Sandusky last:
5. I Sandusky loves laps! Anybodies lap will do, strangers or family, it doesn't matter to me. I will stay put in a lap for hours if you let me.

6. In the summer when my mom goes out the back door I will wait around for a long time for the back door to open again... just so I can sneak real fast past her and run to the catnip plant!

Fall Tour: The Short Version

These are my mom's very important papers. Sometime's I thinks my mom saves every piece of paper that comes her way. Nobody dares to touch HER PAPERS ........ but me. Below the papers are some of her current Drawing Pads! Behind and below me is her very important jar of Bag Balm! You haves to looks real close you can barely see it! Mom swares by Bag Balm for all the owies on her fingers!
Hey! These here are a small pile of my mom's art supplies. This particular pile is behind the couch at the moment. Somehow there is a Target bag there too! My mom hoards art supplies and art books. She thinks way too much about art. This particular pile has a small pile of maps next to it. Mom also hoards maps! Now see this!! Here is the very important Monty sitting in MY CHAIR! Somehow he dominates the landscape. He follows the humans around a lot. Unlike me, mom says he is not hard to get a picture of.
These are the wheels of my human grandma's walker. Hey! This is one real, cool, walker! This particular model came in a lovely red, and has a seat which grandma uses to transport her goodies on... foods, cups of ice, books to read.... and much more.Now! A must see! Important Conversation!

Lucky Monty!! his bath was delayed! The washing machine broke. Mommee has been spending hours and hours at the laundry mat. The people came out to repair it 4 or 5 times now in the last 4 weeks! It is under "expert repair plan"... which doesn't seem expert at all, but, at least so far, is not costing!! The one repair man says the other repair man put in parts wrong!! So he had to order more parts to fix what the other repair man did! Mom is just thinking it is about time to go out and get a new washing machine... cause the machine has now developed a leak.... which wasn't there before!

Anyways, mommie always gives him a rubdown after a bath. But if mommie can't wash Monty's towels she says she isn't going to give him a bath! Monty is happy about that, HA HA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mom still has not got a new laptop yet! I thinks my mom is lazy! We haves this computer out in the living room but she says the chair is the most uncomfortable chair in the world! SEE THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE CHAIR IN THE WORLD ABOVE!! Oh my! Jazzie is sitting on it! .... Anyways mom says this chair makes her back hurt... and she can't afford a new one if she wants a new laptop.

Giving Monty a baths is always a big deal in this house! The things he endures!

Mom is not sure if she is in Oz or not!?! Life has been much too much very odd or something.
Mom apologizes for not visiting much... Lots have been going on here. Mom has just barely been holding it together sometimes. Then mom's laptop broke... At the beginning of this week! Now she has to do everything out on the big puter!! Which she hates!
